I'm reading a galley proof of a new book by Nick Cutter...The Troop. It is awful, awful, awful....it is making me squirm and squeal out loud in revulsion. Many times over... I LOVE IT!!!! Stephen King calls it the most terrifying book he has ever read....that gives you a clue. Great descriptive writing. Fast moving. I haven't finished, but love it.
Maybe Donna, a reviewer on goodreads, says it best when she starts her review with "If Stephen King was a boy scout around the campfire, this would be his way of making sure you never slept at camp".
